Glenn Hunter realized early on that he was a natural leader and teacher.
His first of many businesses was in landscaping when at the age of twelve he organized boys in his neighbourhood to cut other peoples lawns.
It was that taste of entrepreneurship that has propelled Glenn ever since.
A multi-passionate person, Glenn has worked in everything from the construction industry to the music industry to the IT and Technology sector with Bell Canada and Ericsson, to running a trucking company, an equipment rental company to dabbling in venture capitalism and has even given keynotes in Japan.
Throughout, the common factor attributing to his success has always been his mindset.
“There is no such thing as a problem, only a challenge and if you listen carefully and plan ahead those challenges are almost non-existent, “says Hunter.
As the Principal for Y & G Construction Group, he brings years of business experience but also hands-on experience in construction to his company. As a young adult, his first job was working on a crew helping to flip houses with an exceptionally talented boss and Master Carpenter.
Employees and colleagues describe Glenn as a high achiever but also a caring and “shirt off your back” type of person. One who would do anything for anyone.
He has been involved with the supervision of a number of Habitat for Humanity projects over the last few years and has also been involved with the Children’s Wish Foundation helping terminally ill children.
Glenn has an Executive MBA from the University of Denver, holds six patents within Bell Canada for voice processing, holds a PMI (Project Management Institute) designation and an ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute) certification. Y & G Construction Group also holds a BBB (Better Business Bureau) A+ rating with no negative reports.
People may be surprised to know that Glenn likes to paint, has a love of music and plays a number of instruments, collects motorcycles and as a young man swam competitively for five years with aspirations to attend the Olympics.
Glenn has lived in the Durham region for _ years and currently resides in Ajax, Ontario with his wife and _ children.
As the Marketing and Operations Manager for Y & G Construction Group, Rosanna brings a multitude of skills to Y & G. From web design to social media, to photography, event planning and more.
She has a diploma from Durham College for Internet Applications and Web Design, a diploma from Humber College for Photography, a Digital Marketing and Sales certification from Training Business Pros and a Wedding Planner certificate from the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada.
Rosanna has held many positions throughout her career, but they all lead back to her creative nature.
For the next three years, she worked as an Event Planner and then moved onto a position as a Manager at a scrapbooking store. For four years, Rosanna not only sold scrapbooking materials but taught classes on scrapbooking and card making. She especially enjoyed creating wedding invitations. Something that led her to open her own wedding invitation business. After that, she went on to open her own web design business, allowing her to indulge her creativity in an online format.
Personal reasons led her to her current position at Y & G, but she couldn’t be happier in her role. She loves that Principal for the company Glenn Hunter, has a marketing mindset and, “just gets it” when it comes to marketing ideas for the company. She also loves the flexibility, education, and growth that she has experienced as a member of the Y & G team.
Rosanna loves helping people and volunteers her time with many organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity, and the Durham Down Syndrome Association. She also volunteers her time at her trailer on Pigeon Lake to help the kids with crafts or to organize events.
She currently lives in Bowmanville Ontario with her beautiful daughter Angel.
ABDUL BA HUMAYD,
As the Project Manager for Y & G Construction Group, Adbdul brings a multitude of fine qualifications to us. He is a Civil Engineering graduate with hands on experience using AutoCAD and Revit. Abdul works and communicates with our team to accomplish the tasks of finishing client projects. He takes care of the crew schedule, orders supplies for the projects, sources out the best products and prices for our clients. He builds relationships, and trust with our suppliers and clients. Outside of work Abdul enjoys hanging out with friends and playing tennis.
General Finish Craftsman and Cabinet Carpenter
Cameron is a graduate of the Electrical Technician Program from Durham College and though he has many skills, specializes in Plumbing, Mechanics, Carpentry and is naturally very good with numbers.
Woking at Y & G Construction Group since 2010, one thing that sets Cameron apart is that he is very organized and attentive to a client’s needs. He also has no problem explaining the renovation process to them, so they fully understand what is happening.
When Cameron isn’t working, you may find him at the gym, working on his truck or renovating his house. He also loves sports, camping, and off-roading.
General Finish Craftsman and Cabinet Carpenter
Bryan Devoe is known at Y & G Construction Group as the comedian of the group and specializes in flooring. Prior to joining the team at Y & G worked at Logistics In Motion as a Selector and Reach Truck Operator.
One thing that is important to Bryan is that he wants clients to be happy with the work that they are getting done and he feels pride in providing an amazing quality of workmanship to those clients.
When Bryan is not working, he loves spending time with his wife and three kids or watching hockey.
