Y&G CONSTRUCTION GROUP INC.
Founded in 2003, the company was originally launched as Yellow & Green Group of Companies Inc. The name was the result of the company’s founder, Glenn Hunter, being called “Mr. Yellow and Green” by a supplier after wearing a stylish yellow shirt and khaki pants combination.
However, these days the company goes by Y&G Construction Group Inc., or just Y&G.
FOUNDER and PRINCIPAL
As a multi-passionate person, Glenn has worked in everything from the construction industry to the music industry to IT, and even running a trucking company and an equipment rental company. Throughout, the common factor attributing to his success has always been his mindset.
“There are no problems, only challenges. Through careful planning these challenges can be resolved,” says Mr. Hunter.
As the Principal of Y&G Construction Group Inc., he brings years of hands-on experience within his company. Customers, employees, and colleagues all describe Glenn as a high achiever and a caring individual.
Mr. Hunter has also been involved with the supervision of several Habitat for Humanity projects over the last few years, as well as the Children’s Wish Foundation.
Glenn has an Executive MBA from the University of Denver, holds six patents within Bell Canada for voice processing, and holds a PMI (Project Management Institute) designation and an ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute) certification.
HOLLY HUNTER, INTERIOR DESIGN CONSULTANT & ESTIMATOR
Holly came to Y&G with an Advanced Diploma from George Brown in Construction Engineering Technology. Her extensive work experience as a Design Consultant at a local tile retailer gives her a unique perspective on the design phase.
Holly brings a multitude of skills to Y&G Construction Group Inc. Her “can-do attitude” leads to her wearing multiple hats in her day-to-day activities. In addition to working alongside our clients in the office, she also brings to the table practical construction experience, at times being hands-on in the installation of tiling and detailed mosaic work, as well as various other tasks.
With Holly’s meticulous attention to detail and an ear for listening to your individual needs, you know you are in good hands when it comes to the interior design side of your renovation project. Her exceptional interpersonal skills allow our clients to feel very comfortable working through designs in our showroom, where she aids in the selection of cabinetry styles, countertops, flooring, and even door handle styles.
The time Holly spends with our clients helps to provide a clear design plan from the very beginning of the project. From creating a comprehensive quote and project schedule to mitigating any changes midway and explaining any issues to clients that may arise, Holly will ensure your project is completed to your satisfaction.
ABDUL BA HUMAYD, PROJECT MANAGER
Abdul Ba Humayd is a graduate of the Civil Engineering Program at the University of Boston and joined the Y&G team as the lead Project Manager. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing the crew schedules, purchasing supplies for the projects, ensuring successful coordination of deliveries, and adhering to individual project timelines.
Abdul is also responsible for building relationships and trust with our suppliers. Additionally, he continually researches the latest innovative design and products in our industry.
